Applied Systems Engineering Inc. was started in 1993 by ASEI Founders Tim Elbert and David Gaskill that helped design and demonstrate the first GPS guided bomb (the JDAM Operational Concept Demonstration). Since 1993, ASEI has played a key role in integrating INS/GPS technology into munitions and has built a deep experience base in munition design and test.
From its beginning as a 2-man consulting company, ASEI has grown to 41employees in Niceville, Florida and Tucson, AZ. Our Niceville facility is the engineering center which includes an avionics production center, a High-Performance Computing Cluster, and engineering design and support offices. The ASEI Tucson office is our test and laboratory facilities.
ASEI has made fundamental contributions to the incorporation of GPS into military test ranges and precision guided weapons. To date, ASEI navigation systems are in a variety of USAF and USN aircraft and weapons, and ASEI Operational Flight Software is performing in several inventory weapon systems and weapon launchers
